THE PROBLEM SOLVING PROGRAM

The Problem Solving Program

For horses who are struggling with something specific.

As an Equine Behaviorist, I love getting to the bottom of behavioral issues, which is what the Problem Solving Program is all about! Instead of simply punishing bad behavior to eradicate it, I get to the meaning behind the behavior and help the horse communicate it in a different way. The path to “solving” these problems varies. Almost always, it ends up being a combined approach of liberty, horsemanship, and energy work. We need to help the horse realize that we are here to bring joy, happiness, and ease into their world, eliminating the need for defensive, aggressive or “stubborn” behaviors.

Examples of “problems” solved by the program:

  • Trailer loading

  • Biting

  • Kicking

  • Impatience

  • Boundary pushing

  • Hyper-reactivity

Timeframe:

The timeframe will depend directly on what the problem behavior is and the horse. This will be discussed during evaluation.

Prerequisites:

Horse must be halter trained and respond well to halter pressure. If the horse is not able to do this, then we will start with the Handling Program!

Cost:

Cost for this program is dependent upon the behavioral problem as well as the length of the stay.
